My names is Sarah, and this is my ePorfolio created for the GSOLE Certification Course focused on Online Literacy Instruction (OLI). Although I wear many hats, I decided to develop this ePorfolio around my main job as a writing center coordinator. In that role, I am responsible for considering the best approaches for accessible online tutoring, providing online writing resources to the campus community, and developing tutor education that takes into account best practices in OLI. My personal theory of Online Literacy Instruction is outlined on this page, and it contextualizes the rest of the ePortfolio.

My Theory of Online Literacy Instruction

My theory of online literacy instruction (OLI) emphasizes effective, accessible design and pedagogically sound learning experiences. Having worked as an interpreter, academic advisor, and writing center professional, I have developed multiple lenses through which I consider my approach to OLI. Now, I have a clearly defined personal theory of OLI that guides my approach by emphasizing accessibility, engagement, community, and empowerment.
